6.2 Operation
ATTENTION! Never let the pump run dry, however briefly.
Recheck the electrical connections , the electrical protection and the rating(s) of the
fuse(s).
measure the current on each phase and compare with the nominal values marked on
the data plate.
Do not exceed the current rating of the motor.
measure the supply voltage with the motor running.
Acceptable tolerance:
Drive all air out of the discharge tube to avoid a ram effect when starting.
Ambient temperatures
The submersible motors are designed so that they can be used at rated power in water
at a temperature not exceeding 40°C. the circulation velocity along the motor must be at
least 8 cm/sec to assure proper cooling. For use in water at a higher temperature, the
load must be reduced according to the current rating of the motor as indicated by the
table below.
Water temperature
Between 40°C (104°F)
and 50°C (122°F)
ATTENTION! Do not use the motors at ambient temperatures in excess of 55 °C.
The freezing point of the liquid (oil) with which the motors are filled is –15°C.
ATTENTION! Never operate for more than two minutes with the discharge valve fully
7 Maintenance
No special maintenance in operation.
