2. Cut out the correct template and position it on the underside of the bum-
per, as shown in fig. 3, fig.4 or fig. 4a. Saw out the portion indicated.
Loosen the heat shield at the point indicated in fig. 6.
3. Slide the tow bar supports into the left and right chassis, as shown in fig.
7. Attach two M10x100 bolts at points A, including flat washers. The
holes B are covered underneath with a sticker; this should be removed.
Attach two M10x100 bolts at points B, including nut plate C, schnorr-
washers, flat washers. On the left, the heat shield should be moved
downwards, as indicated in fig. 6, in order to position nut plate C.
Tighten all nuts and bolts to the torque indicated in the drawing.
4. Reattach the heat shield fastening bolt which was removed. Reattach
the bumper, including the protective caps and any taillight units, if appli-
cable. Mount the housing. Mount the socket plate. Tighten the ball fas-
tening bolts to the torque indicated in the drawing.
Warning! The screw threading must not come in contact with wax. This
can damage the threads.
For mounting and dismounting of the detachable ball read the enclo-
sed instructions.
NOTE:
* Should this installation process entail the cutting of the bumper – con-
formation MUST be obtained by the installation engineer of the custo-
mer's acceptance prior to completion. Brink Towing Systems do not
accept responsibility for any matters arising as a result of this miscom-
munication.
* All measurements are in mm!
* The dealer should be consulted for possible necessary adjustment(s)
"of the vehicle".
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting
points.
* Consult your dealer for the maximum tolerated pull weight and ball
hitch pressure of your vehicle.
* Do not drill through electrical-, brake- or fuellines.
* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
* This fitting instruction has to be enclosed in the vehicle documents after
fitting the towbar.

assembly, including the use of unsuitable tools, the use of other
assembly methods and means than the ones outlined, and the incor-
rect interpretation of these assembly instructions.

MONTAGEANLEITUNG:
1. Den Boden des Kofferraums frei machen und „falls vorhanden" links
und rechts die Stoßstangenbefestigungsschrauben (4x) entfernen. Bei
den Modellen ab dem Jahr 2001 müssen bei den Befestigungspunkten
die vier Kleber vom Kofferraumboden entfernt werden. Außerdem müs-
sen bei den Stüfenheck Modellen die Rückleuchtenunits demontiert
werden. Die Stoßstange einschließlich Stoßbalken gemäß Abb. 1
abmontieren. Der Stoßbalken wird nicht mehr benötigt. Die Kunststoff-
schutzhaupen gemäß Abb. 2 demontieren. Bei den Modellen ab dem
Jahre 2001 nur rechts die Schutzhaube abmontieren.
2. Die zutreffende Schablone ausschneiden und gemäß Abb. 3, Abb. 4
oder Abb. 4a an die Unterseite der Stoßstange anlegen. Den angege-
benen Teil heraus schneiden. Das Hitzeschild bei dem in Abb. 6 ange-
gebenen punkt lösen.
3. Die Halterungen der Anhängervorrichtung gemäß Abb. 7 in das linke
und rechte Fahrgestell schieben. Bei den punkten A zwei M10x100-
Schrauben einschließlich Unterlegscheiben befestigen. Die Löcher B
sind an der Unterseite mit einem Kleber bedeckt, der entfernt werden
muss. Bei den punkten B zwei M10x100-Schrauben einschließlich
Mutterplatte C, Sicherungsscheibe und Unterlegscheiben befestigen.
Links muss das Hitzeschild gemäß Abb. 6 nach unten bewogen werden,
um anschließend die Mutterplatte C anlegen zu können. Alle Schrauben
und Muttern gemäß den Angaben in der Skizze festdrehen.
