12. "HOW TO DO" MAINTENANCE

12.1. ENGINE OIL CHANGE

Change engine oil every 100 hours (for new engine, change oil after 20 hours).
Drain the oil while the engine is warm to ensure complete and rapid draining.

Place the generator on a level surface and warm up the engine for several minutes. Turn the 3
positions switch knob to "OFF" position to stop engine. (FIG. MU-ACC-02)

Turn the Fuel tank cap air vent knob to "OFF" position. (FIG. MU-ACC-14)
3.
Unscrew and remove the panel. (FIG. MU-ACC-17)
4.
Place an adapted bowl near the engine to recover old oil. (FIG. MU-ACC-30)
5.
Unscrew the drain plug. (FIG. MU-ACC-18)
6.
Let the old oil completely drain. (FIG. MU-ACC-37)
7.
Place the engine on a flat surface ground and fill the crankcase roll until get the high level with
the recommended motor oil. (FIG. MU-ACC-20)
8.
Rescrew the cork of filling (with gauge). (FIG. MU-ACC-21)
Use fresh and high quality lubricating oil to the specified level. If contaminated or deteriorated oil
issued or the quantity of the engine oil is not sufficient, the engine damage will result and its life
will be greatly shortened.
Please dispose of used engine oil in a manner that is compatible with the
environment. We suggest you take use a sealed container to take it to your
local service station or recycling center for reclamation. Do not throw it in
the trash or pour it on the ground.
Used engine oil may cause skin cancer if repeatedly left in contact with the
skin for prolonged periods. Although this is unlikely unless you handle used
oil on a daily basis, it is still advisable to thoroughly wash your hands with
soap and water as soon as possible after handling used oil.

ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS:

Engine oil is a major factor affecting engine performance and service life.
Non-detergent and 2-stroke engine oils will damage the engine and are not recommended. (See
the page 12 of this manual).
