5. Connect siphon housing and turn the mounting part a
1/4 turn (Fig.12)
NOTE: Ensure that the floating ball is in the housing!
6. Connect condensation hose DN 12 mm (length max.
1.5m) to the building drainage system (siphon). The con-
den sation hose from the ball siphon must have a gra-
dient (not rising), openly dripping into a funnel siphon
and must not be discharged into a closed system
(Fig.13/14).
If the unit is installed above a WC cistern, the condensate
can be guided into it. However, it must be ensured that
the condensate freely runs into the cistern. It is not per-
missible to tightly connect the condensate hose directly
to the cistern.
A closed discharge can lead to pressure conditions which prevent controlled drainage. Furthermore, gases ma
escape from the drainage line into the unit, which may create a breeding ground for harmful substances in combi-
nation with moisture.
7. The ball siphon must undergo a regular cleaning cycle (maintenance interval as well as filter maintenance).
– In order to guarantee the absence of leaks, the ball siphon must not be subjected to lateral loads due to
the condensation hose during installation!
– The drainage pipe route must not rise behind the siphon! Ensure that there are no air pockets during ins-
tallation!
– The condensation outlet must be frost-proof!
– The condensate hose must end 20 mm above the open outlet or possible water level!

Connecting spigots

The units are supplied with four spigots (diameter 125 mm). The ducts (e.g. IsoPipe IP-125) must be connected secu-
rely and tightly to the spigots, e.g. connector RVBD 125 K must be used in this respect. The arrangement of the venti-
lation duct depends on the unit version in Fig. 15.

Air ducting, ventilation circuit

When designing the ductwork, use the shortest possible runs. Airtight connections and changeovers must be ensured
for the best possible heat recovery. To avoid pressure losses, dirt build-up and noise, use smooth ducts. The following
duct diameter DN 125 mm (e.g. isolated pipe system Iso-Pipe IP-125, accessories) is to be planned for main lines
(outside, extract air, supply air distributor, extract collector), and the diameter is reduced accordingly for branch lines.
The supply air is led to the living and bedrooms and the extracted air is led from the secondary areas. In order to reduce
condensation in the outside and outgoing air pipes, and any pre-heating coils and filter boxes, these are to be insulated
in an appropriate way. The minimum insulating thicknesses in accordance with DIN EN 1946-6, 05/2009 must be
observed. If supply and extract air ductwork run through unheated rooms, insulation must be provided to reduce heat
losses. To balance the whole system, supply and extract openings should be provided with adjustable valves (accesso-
