Operation and Control –
Hand-Held Operation
The additional handle must be tightly screwed
onto the drill for hand-held drilling.
5.1
Fitting or replacing the diamond
drill bit
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work on the diamond drill.
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to hot drill bits.
Î The drill bits fitted can get hot if used for
a lengthy time. Wear safety gloves when
changing the drill bits or allow the drill bits to
cool first.
NOTE
If the diamond drill is used on a drill stand, the
machine must be fixed in the motor collar before
the diamond core drill bit is fitted.
Diamond core drill bits (2) / (3) are screwed
8
onto the G½" internal thread or 1¼" UNC
external thread of the output shaft (1) depending
on the drilling diameter.
8
Use an open-ended spanner SW36 to hold
the output shaft tight (1).
8
Tighten the diamond core drill bit (2) using an
open-ended spanner SW41.
Tighten the diamond core drill bit (3) using an
8
open-end spanner SW22 or SW24.
NOTE
Check the fit and condition of the diamond core
drill bit. A damaged diamond core drill bit may not
be used and must be replaced immediately.
5.2

Dry drilling

5.2.1 Inserting the centring pin

The centring pin (1) can only be used with
9
diamond core drill bits, which are screwed onto the
1¼" UNC external thread of the output shaft.
10
Select a centring wingnut (3) according
to the diamond core drill bit diameter and
push onto the centring pin (1) up to the lock
washer (2).
11
Push the centring pin (2) with the centring
wingnut (3) through the diamond core drill bit (1)
and into the output shaft.
12
Correct fit of the centring pin (3) with the
centring wing nut (2) in the diamond core drill
bit (1).
5.2.2 Connect dust extractor to the
extraction tube
Check the dust extractor to ensure that it is
working properly.
Push the dust extractor hose (3) firmly onto
13
the nozzle (2) of the extraction tube (1).
NOTE
13
The socket (2) is designed to be a suitable fit
for the extraction hose (3) of a dust extractor.
When the extraction hose (3) is cold a good
13
deal of effort is required to push it onto the
nozzle (2) of the extraction tube (1).
5.2.3 Switching on the diamond drill
and drilling
Before starting up the diamond drill, check all
the points described in the "Before starting
work" chapter (see page 39).
Test the PRCD switch and switch on (see
3
page 39).
