for use in areas at risk of explosion
IIB
- Group:
Group II divisions:
• IIA, a typical gas is propane;
• IIB, a typical gas is ethylene;
Note 1 This division is based on the maximum experimental safety gap (MESG) or the minimum ignition current ratio (MIC ratio)
of the explosive gas atmosphere in which the equipment may be installed. (See IEC 60079-20-1).
Note 2 Equipment marked with IIB is suitable for applications that require Group IIA equipment.

T6
The maximum surface temperature is determined in normal installation and environmental conditions (-20°C and
+40°C) and without dust deposits on the equipment.
During operation, the vacuum/pressure lobe pump must be cleaned because build-ups of dust cannot exceed 5 mm.
Any deviation from these reference conditions can greatly affect heat dissipation and, therefore, the temperature.

Protection Level:
Relationship between equipment protection levels (EPL) and areas
The equipment protection levels (EPL), as defined by the EN 80079-36 standard, refer to groups of equipment and categories of
similar equipment according to table I.1.
The same applies if a standard refers to the intended use of the equipment in the areas in accordance with the definitions in IEC
60079-10-1 and IEC 60079-10-2.
