Step 4. Connect the fence - Reduced Power
Use the reduced output terminal (yellow) when fencing young animals, sensi ve
animals or pets. It is also recommended that in areas of public access or where
children may be present that you connect your fence to the yellow reduced terminal.
This can be done on an independent sec on of the fence or separate fence line
amongst a mul -wire fence - refer diagram A. below.
a) Connect the Energizer's yellow reduced output terminal ( )to the fence using
Underground Cable (G627).
b) A ach the other end of the cable using a Joint Clamp (G603).

Step 5. Turn the Energizer on
a) Plug the Energizer into a power outlet and switch ON.
b) Check that the Power On LED on the front of the energizer is green.
Important: Readings will change as the fence condi ons change. This is the Energizer
monitoring the fence and Energizer performance. Read the sec ons "Understanding
your Energizer" page 14, for a complete understanding of the displays and alarms.
HANDY HINT
Find a loca on for your ground system that is permanently
damp, has high fer lity or salinity and is away from dairy
sheds. Install the ground system at least 10m (33 ) from any
power supply ground peg, underground telephone or power
cable. The best construc on is 2m (6½ ) long galvanised
stakes G879 or Super Ground Kits G880, 3m (10 ) apart,
connected to the energizer by high quality Lead-out cable
G627. Do not use materials that rust.
(Use G6272 if the ground system is over 100m (300 )
from the energizer).
