The Peugeot Saveurs legacy began in
EN
1840 when the brand produced its first
coffee mill. In 1855, superb cast-iron mills started
becoming a regular fixture on grocery store
counters for grinding large quantities of seed,
sugar, coffee and flour. The first pepper mills ap-
peared in 1874.
Paying tribute to this exceptional legacy and
ever determined to provide innovative, mo-
dern-day products, Peugeot has designed this
flax seed mill.
measuring spoon and the delicately-ope-
ning hopper, just like the coffee mills used by
our grandmothers. The materials have been
chosen with the utmost care: the beech comes
from the forests of the Franche-Comté region,
while the metal symbolises Peugeot's long-stan-
ding expertise.

mechanism in the centre of the mill can easily
be removed for cleaning and has been speci-
fically engineered to suit the consistency and
hardness of flax seeds.

Origins & History
What is flax?
Flax is a native plant to Eurasia and is nowa-
days cultivated in temperate and tropical cli-
mates. Flax is popular for its fibres, which are
used to produce linen, and its oil-producing
seeds and their numerous health benefits.
The people of Ancient Egypt were widely
familiar with its nutritional values. Flax seeds
are still used today in Chinese and Ayurvedic
medicine.
Flax seeds: health advantages
Flax seeds owe its reputation to three active
ingredients:
- Soluble fibres, which are reported to lower
the amount of «bad» cholesterol and improve
digestive health.
- Lignans (phytoestrogens), which could
help prevent certain types of hormone-re-
lated cancer, especially breast and bowel
cancer.
- Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is part of
the family of essential fatty acids (Omega 3),
whose benefits for the heart and cardiovas-
cular system are recognised.
Flaxseed also has dietary qualities, since it
provides healthy fats while burning bad fats.
In addition, it is gluten-free.
