Replacing the Battery

With the purchase of an additional battery, you can have a fully charged spare to swap with one that is not
charged. There are two ways to swap batteries, cold-swapping and hot-swapping:
Cold-swapping Batteries
To cold-swap batteries in your battery bay, follow these easy steps:

Have a charged battery ready to install.

Shut down your notebook and disconnect the AC adapter.

With the system oriented as shown in Figure 14, push and hold the battery bay release lock away from the
battery pack, and slide the battery release button to the right. This will unlock the battery. At the battery lift point,
lift the battery out of the bay.

Insert a new battery into the bay. Push and hold the battery bay release lock away from the battery pack, and
slide the battery release button to the left. This will lock the battery.

Plug in the AC adapter and turn the power on.
