Important:
When adjustment of the cutting height is
required during operation, turn the PTO switch
to the OFF position, raise the mower to the high-
est with the lift lever, stop the engine, shift the
transmission range shift lever to the neutral posi-
tion, push down the master brake pedal, and
apply the parking brake. Then adjust the cutting
height.
7-4. Stopping the mower
a. Turn the PTO switch to the OFF position.
b. Shift the throttle lever to the low position.
c. Depress the brake pedal fully.
d. Turn the key switch to the OFF position to stop
the engine.
e. Apply the parking brake and remove the key.
7-5. Emergency stop
Stop the tractor and mower immediately when
any of the following abnormalities is encoun-
tered.
- Abnormal noise
- Abnormal vibration
- Abnormal smell
- Blade hitting an obstacle
- The mower hitting an obstacle
The cause of trouble should be located and cor-
rected immediately. If possible, consult your
dealers. Never attempt to keep on operating the
mower without locating and correcting the cause
of trouble.
When the blades hit any obstacles seriously,
never fail to ask your dealer to check the
machine for damage.
7-6. Efficient mowing
- Be sure to mow at full throttle.
- Choose an adequate traveling speed in accor-
dance with the height of grass to be cut.
- Low cutting height will lead to poor mowing
efficiency and rapid blade wear.
- When the screens for the air-intake openings are
clogged with dust, clean them at once. Never go
on operating with clogged screens.
1) Mowing plan and method
When mowing a large area, the following
method is recommended.

a. Travel crock wise in spirals two or three times
towards inside.
b. Then continue traveling counterclockwise to the
end.
In this way, scattering of cut grass onto adjacent
passes and mower clogging are prevented and
even mowing is achieved.
When mowing an irregular shaped land, divide it
into square areas and apply the same method as
above.
