In the case that the battery needs to be
replaced, this operation should be done so
by a qualified technician.
The disposal of batteries should be made
only in designated areas (shops or public
buildings) indicated for such types of
disposal.
The battery can be purchased from the supplier of
the Tester-A2 as spare part (art. R290).

EYBOARD AND DISPLAY
The TESTER-A2 has an OLED display and a 4-key
keyboard.
By the keyboard keys you can select the weapon or
the equipment to test, as well as entering the
programming in order to personalize the preset
parameters.

UNCTIONING
Following are some general considerations to help
you better understand how the device operates and
the best ways of using it, also when repairs to the
weapons and equipment are required.
• We advise first testing the bodycord to be used
for checking the weapons in order to understand
the exact resistance value (see par. 5.6).
Measuring the weapons' resistance involves also
measuring that of the bodycord.
• All resistance thresholds values indicated in the
following paragraphs comply with the current FIE
Technical Regulations (Regulation of Materials).
These thresholds can, nonetheless, be modified
when you wish to update them in accordance
with eventual variations in FIE regulations. To
modify thresholds, see Ch. 6.
• Each measure is assigned with a "threshold
value" which emits an error signal when the
threshold is surpassed.
• When checking, we advise moving and bending
the blades, cables, connectors and mechanical
connections in order to make sure there are no
breaks in connection. For example, in controlling
the epee and foil tip, it is good to bend the blade
to see if this causes interruption to the tip contact.

Resistance values

5.1
Based on the selected test, the TESTER-A2 carries
out the measurement of resistances between the
various connections.
Such measuring happens very quickly, so as to
present more than one value at a time (see
"Complete display", par. 5.2.1).
Resistances from 0 to 20Ω: resolution of 0.1Ω.
Resistances from 20Ω to 1kΩ: resolution of 1Ω.
Resistances between 1kΩ and 10kΩ: resolution of
0.1kΩ.
If a connection is open (a resistance greater than
10kΩ), the corresponding resistance will be indicate
by "----".
For all numerical values, if the value is shown
highlighted
then the test resulted negative and,
more precisely, when:
• in measuring the resistance, the value is greater
than the threshold;
• in measuring the leakages, the value is inferior to
the threshold.
Each resistance value is identified by two letters.
For example, the resistance "Rab" is the value
measured between the connection points "a" and
"b" on the front of the Tester-A2.
