5.6.1
BODYCORDS parameters
The parameters for the BODYCORDS test are as
follows (see Ch. 6):
• P10 – BODYCORD resistance
• P11 – BODYCORD leakage
5.6.2
Check the cable mask (with 2 crocodile
clips)
To check the cable with two crocodile clips, the
BODYCORD test can be used by inserting the
supplied banana plug into the socket connector
«c»; then connect a crocodile clip onto «c» and the
other onto the connection to the right of «c'». On
the display, check that the Rcc' resistance is less
than the desired threshold.

JACKET test

5.7
The JACKET test can be used to check the
following conductive parts:
• the jacket (threshold at 6Ω);
• the mask for the sabre (threshold at 6Ω);
• the conductive piste (threshold at 5Ω).
Please note: in order to carry out the present test,
you need the optional accessory art. 899-11
(Weight 500g for TESTER-A2), to be connected to
an a-b-c connector.
Select "JACKET test" by repeatedly pressing the
key [BodyCord etc.]. The display with time-graphic
is available for this test.
Lay the conductive jacket on a flat surface,
smoothing out any creases in the fabric. It is
advised to lay the jacket on a soft surface (e.g. on
other jackets, on a piece of foam rubber, etc..) so
as to alleviate any sudden shifts in weight.
If the Rjck value (resistance between tip and
weight) is greater than the threshold, the value will
appear highlighted.

Further details for armourers and repairs
The oxidized jackets (due to sweating, wear and tear, etc..)
may signal many abnormalities not caused by the breaking
down of the conductive shirt but instead due to the increase
of contact resistance caused by oxidation. To avoid this
type of abnormal signaling, you may increase the threshold
value of that resistance by modifying the programmed P14
parameter (see Ch. 6).
The P17 parameter "Weight sensitivity" defines the
maximum interruption time of the conduction allowed
without the signaling of abnormalities. Decreasing this
parameter increases the sensitivity to interruptions.
5.7.1
JACKET parameters
The parameter for the JACKET test is the following
(see Ch.6):
• P14 – JACKET resistance
5.7.2
Using the weight
• Connect the crocodile tip to the jacket.
• With the weight lifted or with a resistance greater
than the threshold, the red LED of the weight
lights up.
• Pass the weight over the surface of the jacket;
the green LED on the top of the weight should
light up to indicate the proper continuity of fabric
(Rjck < 6Ω). Each time the weight passes over an
area of the fabric in which the conductivity is
greater than 6Ω, the red LED on the weight
should light up and the device should emit an
acoustic signal.
