3.1 Starting the sterilization
Inserting an instrument (such as an inoculating loop with holder) into the orifice of the
annealing tube (4, 4a). By briefly touching the start symbol (1a) at the touch panel, the
user can start the sterilization.
3.2 Foot pedal connection and operation
Alternatively, the sterilization process can also be started with an foot pedal,
that is available optionally.
Insert the connection cable of the foot pedal into the socket (10) at the back of the unit.
The sterilization progress can be started by operation of the foot pedal.

3.3 Sterilization process
Hold the instrument in the annealing tube (4) until the sterilization process is finished
(10 seconds). The status display (2) indicate the progress of sterilization due to the
more increasing orange lighting of it. After 10 seconds, the sterilization will stop
automatically and the status display fade out.
If the device is already heated by previous use, thermocontrol uses the
i
residual heat and switching on the IR-halogen lamp will be delayed by
up to 5 seconds.
Regardless of the unit temperature, the sterilizer is ready to use again after
1 - 3 seconds. The start symbol (1a) indicates this by lighting up blue.
Never hold fingers or other parts of the body on or in the sterilization
orifice (4a). Even some time after use, the sterilization orifice (4a) and
the annealing tube (4) are still hot. Danger of burns!
If the IR-halogen lamp is illuminated, do not look directly into the
sterilization orifice (4a).
3.4 Cancellation of Sterilization
During the sterilization process, the stop symbol (1b) lights up. By lightly touching the
symbol (analogous to starting the sterilization), the sterilization can be stopped.
By operating the foot pedal (optional, see section 3.2) the sterilization can be
stopped prematurely by pressing the foot pedal again.
3.5 Thermocontrol
Depending on the frequency of sterilization, the thermocontrol makes use of the
residual heat, thus shortening the activation of the IR-halogen lamp automatically and
dynamically by up to 5 seconds.
