In this chapter you get additional technical information that
applies for all stationary Vectron POS systems with 64 Bit techno-
logy.

P o r t s
At the bottom of the Vectron POS system there are nu-
merous ports via which external devices can be connected
to the POS system (see fig. 14).
All ports are mounted on-board of the Vectron POS sys-
tem.
Six serial ports (RS232) for the connection of e.g. custo-
mer displays, scanners, magnetic card readers, printers,
operator locks, modems etc.
One of these ports allows to connect the Vectron POS
System to a PC. With this connection for instance a
software-update of the POS system can be made. Entries
can be read out and processed.
Two USB ports for updates and backup on USB sticks
One PS/2 port for the connection of PC-keyboard and
mouse (single or parallel per adapter).
One network port (10/100 MBit) to establish an extensi-
ve network with up to 200 Vectron POS systems.
Two ports for cash drawers. Per adapter a whole of
four cash drawers (two per port) can be connected and
addressed.
One parallel port (Centronics) for the connection of e.g.
one A4-paper printer.
One power supply for the Vectron POS system via exter-
nal power pack Vectron PS10.
