Be careful when connecting the contact clips to prevent pinching.
Track sections provided with high-voltage impulse track circuits may cause sparkles
when connecting the contact clips, which are not dangerous.
To ensure a correct start-up connect the contact clips one after the other to both rails of the
track section to be protected. After connecting the first contact clip wait for at least two seconds
before connecting the second one. The short circuit will now be tested automatically. A passed
test of the short circuit resistance will activate the white LEDs, which will start flashing with
approx. two flashes per second. Now it is guaranteed that a short circuit of the track circuit of
the respective track section is caused. If no white flashing of the signal LED appears after the
second contact clip has been connected, the battery of the device may be empty or misplaced.
Locking the contact clips
To prevent an unauthorized removal of the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 lock the bolt levers. For this
purpose, turn the key counterclockwise in a half rotation. Store the key of the mechanical lock at
a safe place. Opening the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 by force without unlocking the lever will
damage the contact points.
To remove the contact clips from the track, pull the unlocked bolt lever downwards.
To shut down the CLIPLANS SICO 4004, remove the contact clips from the track.
Removing the contact clips without unlocking the bolt lever will damage the contact
points.
Do not remove the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 from the track if the battery is low or was removed.
Otherwise this may have a negative effect on the self-test during the next start-up. However,
damage will not be caused.
