Important notes

The CLIPLANS SICO 4004 may only be used if the track section to be protected is monitored by
the local signaling systems by means of a track circuit. It is irrelevant which type of track circuit
is used. Make sure that the track circuit is working failure-free during the operation of the
CLIPLANS SICO 4004. The CLIPLANS SICO 4004 may only be used with approval of the
authority responsible for the railway system in the respective track section.
Railway protection and power supply systems are neither damaged nor destroyed when using
the CLIPLANS SICO 4004. Active track circuits, even those operating with a higher impulse
voltage, do not cause damages to the CLIPLANS SICI 4004 according to the stated technical
data.
A trouble-free operation of several CLIPLANS SICO 4004 close to each other in one track
section is possible.
An automatic performance test is carried out by the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 during the start-up,
which ensures a trouble-free operation. A warning will be given if a short circuit can no longer be
guaranteed or if an error has occurred. In addition, an automatic self-monitoring test is carried
out in regular intervals to increase safety.
Provided that the device is working error-free, all indicators will go out as soon as both contact
clips are removed from the track, including the white signal LEDs.
The yellow indicator will be activated if the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 detects a faulty short circuit,
which persists for more than a minute. After five more minutes the device will be switched off
automatically. To restart the device, disconnect and reconnect the contact clips.
Do not look directly into the
signal LED from short distance to protect your eyes!
The case design of the monitoring unit of the CLIPLANS SICO 4004 offers many advantages,
including dirt and water resistance, easy cleaning a mechanical robustness. The case may
nevertheless not be overstressed to ensure water resistance and to prevent scratches on the
lenses of the signal lights.
The electronic monitoring unit is resistant to water. Take care that no water enters the battery
compartment, especially when replacing the battery. Do not place the monitoring unit in water or
with the battery compartment face up.
Take care when working with the contact clips
to prevent pinching!
In case of the mechanical lock being frozen, use a commercial antifreezer such as for a car
lock.
