❐ The steam must not be pointed towards mains cords or parts containing electric compo-
nents (e.g. inside of ovens, refrigerators, switches and lights, microwave appliances).
❐ Turn the appliance off and pull the mains plug
– if you are not using the appliance,
– before you remove/change an adapter or fl oor cleaning cloth,
– when fi lling/emptying the water tank,
– before you clean the appliance.
❐ Always pull by the plug and never by the cord when removing the mains plug from a
socket.
❐ Do not use the appliance in rooms containing easily fl ammable dust or toxic and explosi-
ve vapours.
❐ Check the appliance for damages prior to each use. In the event of defects, the appliance
may not be used until it has been repaired by a qualifi ed professional.
❐ Only use the appliance if it has been properly assembled and is fully functional!
❐ In the event of damages/malfunctions, immediately deactivate the appliance.
❐ Never attempt to repair an electrical appliance or replace parts yourself. Contact the ne-
arest customer service centre/qualifi ed professional or, in the event of damage, contact
customer service.

Avoiding damage to materials, property and the appliance

❐ Lay the cable such that it is not crushed or creased and such that it does not come into
contact with hot surfaces.
❐ Do not pull or carry the appliance by the cord.
❐ Always work with suffi cient lighting.
❐ Do not use any additional accessories. Only use the enclosed accessories from the manu-
facturer.
❐ Never twist the water tank cap when the appliance is in use! The water tank cap is under
pressure. Always make sure that the water tank is fi lled with water and safely closed
before you use the appliance.
❐ Never use the appliance without water.
❐ Do not overfi ll the water tank! Use the enclosed measuring cup and funnel to refi ll the
water tank. The maximum fi ll volume of the water tank amounts to approx. 1.15 litres.
❐ Use normal or distilled water to fi ll the water tank. Other liquids may cause damage to
the appliance.
❐ Never fi ll the appliance with cleaners or fragrance additives. They may irreparably
damage the appliance and as such, the safe operation of the appliance can no longer be
assured.
❐ Never cover the steam vent, do not place it on soft bases (which may block it), and do
not insert any objects in it.
❐ Maintain adequate distance to heat sources such as stovetops or ovens in order to pre-
vent damage to the appliance.
❐ Never use the cleaning head without a fl oor cleaning cloth!
