If you still have trouble using the wireless adapter, follow the procedure below
that best describes your symptom.
I inserted the Wireless MAXg USB Adapter before the
USRobotics Installation CD-ROM.
1. Cancel the installation procedure that is currently running
2. Insert the Installation CD-ROM, select your language, click Installation, and
then follow the on-screen instructions.
The USRobotics Installation CD-ROM did not automatically
start when I inserted the Installation CD-ROM.
Start the CD-ROM manually as follows:
1. Windows Vista: Click Windows Start > Computer.
Windows XP: Click Windows Start > My Computer.
Windows 2000: On the desktop, double-click My Computer.
2. Double-click the CD drive.
I accidentally clicked Cancel during the installation proce-
dure.
Remove the USRobotics Installation CD-ROM from your CD-ROM drive. Then
follow the installation instructions in this guide.
I cannot connect to my wireless router or access point.
1. For Windows XP and 2000 only: Check the USRobotics Wireless Utility icon
in the system tray to confirm the connection status. If you are connected to
your wireless network device, the icon is green or yellow. If the icon is red,
open the USRobotics Wireless Utility and click the Wireless Networks tab.
Double-click the network that you are connecting to and follow the prompts.
2. Make sure that the network name (SSID) and security settings on the wireless
adapter match those on your wireless router or access point.
3. Windows Vista: Change the channel used by the wireless router or access
point. Then go to Windows Start > Connect to > Wireless. Select your net-
work and click Connect.
Windows XP or 2000: Change the channel used by the wireless router or
access point and check for the network on the Wireless Networks tab.
