Safety instructions
General
• Please read these instructions carefully and retain them for reference.
• All users of this appliance must read and understand this manual before using or cleaning this
appliance.
• Use this appliance solely in accordance with these instructions.
• Without supervision this appliance may not be used by children or persons who have a physical or
mental restriction and therefore are not able to use the appliance safely.
• Have any repairs carried out solely by a qualified electrician. Never try to repair the appliance
yourself.
• The pizza oven is intended only for domestic use, not for commercial use.
Electricity and heat
• Verify that the main voltage is the same as that indicated on the type plate on the
appliance before use.
• Make sure the socket into which you plug the appliance is grounded.
• Always unplug from the wall socket when the appliance is not in use. Always
unplug from the wall socket by pulling on the plug, not the power cord.
• Check the appliance's power cord regularly to make sure it is not damaged. Do not use the ap-
pliance if the power cord is damaged. A damaged cord must be replaced by a qualified electrician.
• Certain parts of the appliance can become hot. Do not touch them, as you may burn yourself.
• Allways use the knob to lift the terracotta dome. Use oven mitts or potholders.
• Only touch or lift spatula by black plastc handle as the metal gets very hot.
• Make sure that the appliance has sufficient space around it, and does not come in contact with
flammable material. The appliance must not be covered.
• Make sure that the appliance and the powercord do not come in contact with sources of heat,
such as a hot hob or naked flame.
• Make sure that the appliance, the power cord and plug do not come in contact with water.
• Allow the hot appliance to cool down at least 30 minutes before cleaning and storing.
Using for the first time
• There are no tools required to assemble the knob. Slide the bolt of the knob
through the top hole of the terracotta dome. Use the washer and the wring nut on
the inside of the dome andt tighten by hand. Do not over tighten. The terracotta
dome might break.
• Clean the baking plate before using the appliance for the first time (see 'Cleaning and mainte-
nance'). The appliance may emit some smoke and a characteristic smell when you switch it on for
the first time. This is normal, and will soon stop.
How to use the pizza oven?
• Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant and splash-proof surface where it cannot fall.
• Make sure that your hands are dry before touching the appliance, power cord or plug.
