3. Operating the unit

3.1. Leak testing to sanitary and heating facilities
Fill and de-air the sanitary and/or heating facility. Place the electric pressure-
testing pump onto an horizontal and smooth surface. Lay the (2) suction
hose together with the (4) suction filter into a container filled with approx.
10 l of water. Connect the (5) high-pressure hose with the sanitary and/or
heating facility which has to be leak tested. Open both the (7) „Test" stop
valve and the (8) „Press" pressure-regulating valve. In order to switch in
the pressure-testing pump, actuate the (1) switch. When turning the (8)
„Press" pressure-regulating valve, the desired pressure can be adjusted
at the (9) manometer, as described below: When turning into clockwise
direction, the pressure will be increased. However, when turning into coun-
ter-clockwise direction, it will be decreased.
If required, de-air the sanitary and/or heating facility repeatedly. After any
de-airing action, repeat the pressure testing as well. As soon as achie-
ving the desired pressure, the following actions must be executed:, close
the (7) „Test" stop valve, open the (8) „Press" pressure-regulating valve,
and switch off the pump.
Provided that both the (10) connecting piece with manometer (max. 25bar!)
and the stop valve between the electrical pressure-testing pump and the
sanitary and heating facility under testing have been mounted, the following
possibility will exist: while testing the pressure, the electric pressure-testing
pump can be separated from the sanitary and heating facility being under
leak test. Note: the stop valve is an accessory part. In this case, after re-
aching the desired pressure, the following measures must be taken: clo-
se the stop valve at the (10) connecting piece, open the (8) „Press" pres-
sure-regulating valve, switch off the pump, and detach the high-pressure
hose at the (10) connecting piece as well.
3.2. Pumping fluids
Do not pump any combustible fluids, acid solutions, or dissolvents. Note
permitted ratings pH, viscosity and temperature of fluids (see 1.2).
Lay the (2) suction hose with the (4) suction filter into the container with
the fluid which must be pumped. Lay the (5) high-pressure hose into the
container, or to the facility which has to be filled. Close the (8) „Press"
pressure-regulating valve, and open the (7) „Test" stop valve. Switch in
the pump (1), and pump the fluid.
3.3. Finalizing the operation of the unit
After finalizing the operation of the unit, open both the (8) „Press" pressure-
regulating valve and the (7) „Test" stop valve. Subsequently, rinse the
pump with clean water for a few minutes.
4. Servicing
4.1. Inspecting the unit
Before inspecting the unit, draw out the mains plug! Before every using
of the machine, examine the high-pressure-hose for damages. Keep cle-
an the (4) suction filter!
4.2. Maintaining the unit
Before maintaining the unit, draw out the mains plug! Change the oil af-
ter every 150 operating hours. For this, lay the pressure-testing pump on
its side area, detach the (11) screws at both the housing shells. Then,
open and detach the housing shells. Open the (12) plastic-material plug
fittings at the bottom side of the pump. Drain-off the oil. Now, fill in approx.
0.15 l of new SAE-30 oil. When the pump is leaking oil, the complete pres-
sure-testing pump must be sent for inspection and/or repair to a service
station authorized by REMS.
4.3. Repairing the unit
Before repairing the unit, draw out the mains plug! This work may only be
carried out by skilled labor and trained personnel as well.
5. Instructions for eliminating malfunctions
5.1. Malfunction: The pressure-testing pump is running. However, it is
not creating any pressure.
Cause:
• The „Press" stop valve has not been closed yet.
• The pressure-testing pump has been sucking air.
• The filter at the suction hose has been plugged.
• The pressure-testing pump has become defective.
5.2. Malfunction: The pressure at the manometer is varying irregularly.
Cause:
• There is air in the system.
5.3. Malfunction: The motor does not start working. It is humming.
Cause:
• The pump has been locked.
• There is an inappropriate voltage supply (is there an appropriate
extension cable?).
5.4. Malfunction: When operating, the motor suddenly dies.
Cause:
• The motor protective switch has disconnected it.
• The pump has got hot, or is blocking.

6. Manufacturer's Warranty

to the first user but shall be a maximum of 24 months after delivery to the
Dealer. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of
the original purchase documents, which must include the date of purcha-
se and the designation of the product. All functional defects occurring wit-
hin the warranty period, which clearly the consequence of defects in pro-
duction or materials, will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of de-
fects shall not extend or renew the guarantee period for the product.
Damage attributable to natural wear and tear, incorrect treatment or mi-
suse, failure to observe the operational instructions, unsuitable operating
materials, excessive demand, use for unauthorized purposes, interventi-
ons by the Customer or a third party or other reasons, for which REMS is
not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty.
Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service
stations authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be
accepted if the product is returned to a customer service station autho-
rized by REMS without prior interference in an unassembled condition.
Replaced products and parts shall become the property of REMS.
The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the
