WARNING
Caution: Mains voltage present!
check whether the voltage given on the rating plate corresponds to the mains
voltage. Only connect electrical devices of protection class I to a socket/exten-
sion lead with a functioning protective contact. On building sites, in a wet
environment, indoors and outdoors or under similar installation conditions, only
operate the REMS Calc-Push on the mains with a fault current protection switch
(FI switch) which interrupts the power supply as soon as the leakage current
to earth exceeds 30 mA for 200 ms.
2.2 Connection of REMS Calc-Push to the System to be Decalcifi ed
Disconnect the system to be decalcifi ed from the water supply and outlet.
Completely empty the system. Fit shut-off valves to the supply and outlet.
Connect one of the two fabric hoses of the REMS Calc-Push to the shut-off
valve of the supply and the other to the shut-off valve of the outlet.

CAUTION
CAUTION
Risk of injury due to acid burns from the decalcifi er or decalcifi cation
solution. Tighten the hose screw connections and check for leaks regularly.
Decalcifi ers must be used and applied in accordance with the local or national
regulations. Transport, storage, handling and application of decalcifi ers can be
dangerous. Therefore, health and safety requirements must be observed closely.
Observe and follow the specifi cations of the decalcifi er manufacturer.
Select a decalcifi er approved under 1. Use for the intended purpose and suit-
able for the system to be decalcifi ed. Open the screwed lid (1) of the tank (2).
Fill the tank with water according to the mixing ratio. Add decalcifi er until the
necessary mixing ratio is reached. Set the lever (3) of the switching valve in
the direction of the hose that is connected to the supply shut-off valve. Open
the shut-off valve. Switch on the REMS Calc-Push at the rocker switch (4).
Pump decalcifi er into the system. Switch off the REMS Calc-Push in time. Do
not allow the pump to run dry! Close shut-off valve. Apply decalcifi cation solu-
tion again if necessary and pump into the system to be decalcifi ed in the same
way. Repeat this process until the system is fi lled. Now circulate decalcifi cation
solution through the system. To reinforce the decalcifi cation effect, reverse the
direction of fl ow at certain intervals with the pump running by turning the lever
(3). Do not close the screwed lid (1) in order to allow gases which form during
decalcifi cation to escape.
NOTICE
In case of heavy foaming, switch off REMS Calc-Push and wait until the foam
has disappeared. Add water if necessary to reduce foaming. Observe and follow
the specifi cations of the decalcifi er manufacturer.
As soon as the formation of bubbles diminishes, the decalcifi cation process is
fi nished or the decalcifi cation solution has been used up. This can be verifi ed
by checking the pH value. The decalcifi cation solution is used up from a pH
value > 4.
Operate REMS Calc-Push for a maximum of 2 hours then a break of half an
hour is necessary. The operating temperature may not exceed 50°C.
Switch off REMS Calc-Push at the rocker switch (4) when the decalcifi cation
process has fi nished. Wait until the decalcifi cation solution has fl owed back
into the tank from the system. Close the shut-off valve in time so that no
decalcifi cation solution escapes from the tank (2). Add a neutralising liquid or
a neutralising powder to the fl owed back decalcifi cation solution until the pH
value is between 6.5 and 9.5. Dispose of this neutralised decalcifi cation solution
in such a way that it causes no harm to the environment. Repeat this process
until the neutralised decalcifi cation solution has been removed from the system.
Then fl ush the system with clean water. Observe the national regulations.
After decalcifi cation, the tank, pump and hoses of the REMS Calc-Push must
be fl ushed with a neutralising liquid diluted with water or neutralising powder
dissolved in water. Observe and follow the specifi cations of the neutralising
agent manufacturer. The process is ended when the pH value is between 6.5
and 9.5.
NOTICE
Danger of frost:
If REMS Calc-Push is exposed to temperatures ≤ 5°C, the
pump body, the tank and the hoses must be completely emptied to avoid
damage. This procedure is also recommended at normal temperatures when
the pump is not used for long periods of time.
4. Maintenance
Notwithstanding the maintenance described below, it is recommended to send
in REMS Calc-Push to an authorised REMS contract customer service workshop
for inspection and periodic testing of electrical devices at least once a year.
Germany, such periodic testing of electrical devices should be performed in
accordance with DIN VDE 0701-0702 and also prescribed for mobile electrical
equipment according to the accident prevention rules DGUV, regulation 3
"Electrical Systems and Equipment". In addition, the respective national safety
provisions, rules and regulations valid for the application site must be considered
and observed.
