1. DESCRIPTION OF GENERAL MACHINE
1.1. Purpose of the manual
This manual contains instructions for correct and safe use of the "Tornado Carbon C-L
V3" and "Tornado TP C-L V3" electrical olive harvesting rake, hereinafter defined as the
"machine", manufactured by Castellari S.r.l. of Imola (BO), Italy.
Before using the machine it is important to read the instructions in this manual carefully
and ensure they are observed; proper observation of the given instructions, together
with proper maintenance, will ensure long-lasting performance of the machine.
NOTE: This manual is an integral part of the machine; should the machine be moved or
sold on the manual must be kept with it.
Keep this manual in a secure place and make sure all possible machine users know
where to find it.
1.2. Machine identification
The machine has an ID plate showing the following data:
•
Name of manufacturer and complete address;
•
Name of product;
•
PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) to be used;
•
Information on dangers.
"CE" marking and year of manufacture are stamped directly on the tool itself.
1.3. Description of machine and technical data
The Tornado Carbon C-L V3 and Tornado TP C-L V3 electric rake has been designed
and built to make olive harvesting easier without in any way damaging the olive tree.
The shape and movement of the rake teeth are such as to prevent any violent
mechanical stress which might otherwise damage the tree.
Olives are harvested by gentle shaking caused by the rakes' movement. The drive unit
with reduction gears is located in the bottom part of the machine. The working head is
attached to the end of a fixed telescopic pole; this allows the user to rake treetops
where harvesting is required.
The telescopic pole has a quick-lock system for appropriately adjusting the operating
length in an easy and fast manner. The machine is equipped with a 15 metre extension
cable with two crocodile clips fixed at the ends for connection to the power battery.
