2. PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE MANUAL

2.1 FOREWORD
The programming software allows connection of an MCP4 module to a PC via a serial
port RS232.
This software greatly facilitates and speeds up operations regarding adjustment of setup
parameters as well as performance check of the power factor correction panel. It is also a
very useful tool in trouble shooting as all the measurements and size can be easily
checked by the operator.
Above all, the following functions are available:
Graphic display of all measurements provided by the instrument with numeric

indication
Access to the Measurements, Setup and Settings windows

Provision for saving and loading the setup parameters

2.3 INSTALLATION AND CONNECTION PC-MCP4
Before proceeding to installation, it is necessary to have a personal computer with the
operating system already installed and a self-installing CD for program setup.
The practical use of this software entails connection of the PC to a MCP4 instrument via
serial cable (supplied together with the software), which allows rapid connection during
programming or setup.
2.4 "MEASUREMENTS" WINDOW
The "Measurements" window provides simultaneous display of the various parameters
from the MCP4 module, thus having an overall view of the power factor correction panel.
The following dimensions are displayed:
RMS voltage of the three phases
