CHAIN SHARPENING

WARNING - Always use safety gloves and
goggles while sharpening. Disconnect
the plug from the network before any
operations on the cutting devices.
The pitch of the chain (Fig. 22) is 3/8"x.050"
(Special). Sharpen the chain using protective
gloves and a round file of Ø 4 mm. (5/32").
Always sharpen the cutters only with outward
strokes (Fig. 21) observing the values given in
Fig. 22.
After sharpening, the cutting links must all have
the same width and length.

Follow the manufacturer's sharpening
and maintenance instructions for the
saw chain. Decreasing the depth gauge
height can lead to increased kickback.

WARNING - A sharp chain produces well-
defined chips. When your chain starts
to produce sawdust, it is time to sharpen.
Sharpen the chain when the electric saw is
disconnected from the network.
After every 3-4 times the cutters have been
sharpened you need to check the height of
the depth gauges and, if necessary, lower
them using the flat file and template supplied
optional, then round off the front corner
(Fig. 23).

WARNING - Proper adjustment of the
depth gauge is as important as proper
sharpening of the chain.

GUIDE BAR

The guide bars provided with a sprocket at
their tip must be lubricated with grease using a
lubrication syringe (Fig. 24).
Rotate the bar after every 8 hours of duty to
ensure wear is even, thus extending its working
life. Loosen the screw (D, Fig.25) and remove
the tensioning disk (A) from bar (B). Ensure the
rubber washer (C) is not worn or broken. Rotate
the bar and secure the disk with screw. Smear a
drop of threadlocker (Loctite 243 or equivalent)
on the screw to ensure it cannot work loose.
Keep the bar groove and lubrication hole clean
using the bar groove cleaner (Fig. 26).
Check the bar rails frequently for wear and, if
necessary, remove the burs and square-up the
rails using the flat file (Fig. 26).
TRANSPORTION
Carry the electric saw with the blade facing
backward and the blade-cover on (Fig. 28).

WARNING - When transpor ting the
machine on a vehicle, ensure that it is
firmly and securely fastened using straps or
belts. The machine must be transported in the
horizontal position, also ensuring compliance
with applicable transport regulations for such
machines.
