Proceed as follows during calibration (see also
Fig. 6a/6b):
Close the FLA's check valve on the pressure side (item 6 on the pressure side) and open the needle-type throttle
(item 11) about half way.
Close the outlet valves in the bypass's passage (item 34) and on the extraction point of the spur line for calibration
(item 18).
Place a sufficiently large measuring vessel at the extraction point of the bypass (item 18).
Switch the pump on in manual mode.
Open the outlet valve on the extraction point of the spur line for calibration (item 18).
Measure the time to discharge a certain volume (see Table 6).
Open the outlet valves in the bypass's passage (item 34) and close the outlet valves on the extraction point of the
spur line for calibration (item 18).
Compare the time measured against the set values for a specific volume in the table.
Measured time too
long
Open needle-type
throttle (item 11)
slightly more.
Repeat the measuring operation and adjustment of the needle-type throttle (item 11) until the measured values
match the calibration time values for the volume flow to be set (see Table 6).
Switch pump to automatic mode.
Checking the position of the outlet valves:
-Open in the bypass's passage (item 34)
-Extraction point of spur line for calibration (item 18) closed
Open FLA's check valve on the pressure side (item 6, on the pressure side), switch system back to operational
standby.
The stop valves in the bypass line must be acti-
vated in the following order after the adjustment
operation:
Open passage in bypass line (item 34)/close
extraction point (item 18) to ensure safe opera-
tion. The stop valves must be secured against
unauthorised activation.
The needle-type throttle(s) (item 11) shall be
secured against unauthorised activation after the
adjustment operation (e.g. by means of sealing).

Measured time too short
Close needle-type throttle (item 11) slightly more.
After commissioning the fire extinguishing sys-
tem, check that the security devices for prevent-
ing unauthorised manipulation still function
properly.
The needle-type throttle can be adjusted by the
WILO customer service.
