1. Setting up the device

Place the enclosed batteries in the device
if they have not already been inserted (see
page 52, Changing batteries).
If you want to operate the device from the
mains, insert the plug on the mains adaptor
(see Accessories) into the socket at the back
of the device.
The batteries are switched off automatically.

2. Fitting the cuff

Bare your left upper arm. Slide the open cuff
onto your upper arm until the bottom edge
of the cuff is 2-3 cm above the inside of the
elbow. The air hose is at the centre of the
inside of the elbow.
Left-handed persons can place the cuff
round their right arm. The instructions for

Operation of the device

Check whether the arrow on the cuff is within the
black mark at the edge of the cuff (arm circum-
ference 22-23 cm).
