Mounting the Vacuum Hose
(see figure A)
Mount the vacuum hose 10 onto the hose con-
nection piece 9 and turn it in clockwise direc-
tion to the stop.
Insert the extension tubes firmly into each oth-
er.
Note: Bosch recommends using static-discharg-
ing hoses with a hose Ø of 19 or 35 mm.
Operation

Starting Operation

Observe correct mains voltage! The voltage
of the power source must agree with the
voltage specified on the nameplate of the
vacuum cleaner. Equipment marked with
230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Please inform yourself about the valid regu-
lations/laws for your country concerning
the handling of materials that are hazard-
ous to one's health.

Wear a dust respirator.
Note: In IS operating mode, it is only allowed to
use the 35 mm hose and nozzle program.
To start the operation of the vac, set the mode
selector switch 6 to on.
To switch off the vac, set the mode selector
switch 6 to off.
Bosch Power Tools
The vacuum cleaner is equipped with an airflow
monitoring system (Airflow). In the IS operating
mode, the airflow is continuously set to a value
of 20 m/s, independent of the positoin of the
Airflow regulator 5.
If this value is fallen below, e. g. caused through
debris accumulated in the vacuum hose, a full
dust bag or a clogged folded filter, warning light
4 flashes. In this case, shut the vacuum cleaner
off and check it as described under "Malfunc-
tions".
Extracting Dusts Resulting from Running
Power Tools (ENT Operating Mode with
Remote Automatic Switching) (see figure B)
Wear a dust respirator.
An adequate ventilation rate (L) must be
provided for when the outgoing air is circu-
lated. Observe the respective national regu-
lations. Measured with a Ø 35 mm and 5 m
long vacuum hose, the max. airflow is
3
140 m
/h and the max. vacuum is 225 hPa.
A socket outlet with earthing contact 7 is inte-
grated in the vacuum cleaner, which allows for
connection of an external power tool. The vacu-
um cleaner is automatically put into operation
via the power tool. Observe the maximal allowa-
ble load of the connected power tool.
For connecting power tools, various hose sys-
tems are available as accessories.
Set the Airflow regulator 5 to the hose diameter
being used (19 mm or 35 mm).
To ensure sufficient dust transport at the vacu-
um location, the minimum airflow for the power
tool connected may not be fallen below.

Set the mode selector switch 6 to the operation
with remote automatic switching symbol.
In this operating mode, the airflow is electroni-
cally monitored according to the setting of the
Airflow regulator 5. Sufficient dust transport is
ensured when the setting is correctly selected.
