The cables and cable plugs are water resistant and suitable for use even in rainy
conditions.
Refrain from use of a high-power jet / power wash system to clean your bicycle. Such
systems will easily force moisture into the Rohloff SPEEDHUB and Rohloff E-14 where
this can cause irreparable damage and system malfunctions.
Protect the cable connections when transporting your Rohloff E-14 equipped bicycle
outside of a vehicle through rainstorms. High speed transportation coupled with water
equates to a similar situation as that caused by high pressure cleaning systems.
Refrain from using aggressive chemicals for cleaning purposes. Such chemicals may
damage plastic components and lead to irreparable damage and system malfunctions.
Make sure all cables and cable plugs are kept free at all times and not clamped by
other/additional bicycle components or by a bicycle rack when transporting on a motor
vehicle.
Do not bend the cables and / or cable plugs. Repeated bending of the connection
components may lead to irreparable damage and system malfunctions.
Do not twist the cables and / or cable plugs. Repeated twisting of the connection
components may lead to irreparable damage and system malfunctions.
Do not pull directly on the cables. Repeated pulling on the cables may lead to irreparable
damage and system malfunctions.
Replace damaged cables.
Replace cables with damaged insulation.

Disconnection of cable plugs

Clean the connection area thoroughly before disconnecting the cable plugs to avoid later
dirt/moisture contamination of the exposed plug ends.
