P3MR Recessed Housing Platform
Electrical Connection (Figure 7-8)
The IRiS P3MR housing platform features an
integral magnetic step down transformer, 120V
50/60 Hz input, 12V, 50VA nominal output is
greater than 90% efficient. Toroidal wound core is
epoxy encapsulated providing extremely low noise
operation. (Figure 6). DO NOT modify the factory
wiring as it may cause the luminaire to
malfunction.
N ote: The junction box will accept 1/2" trade size
fittings.
Review fixture labeling to make sure it is rated for
the voltage installation being used. Make sure no
bare wires are exposed outside the wire nut
connectors.
Step 1
Provide electrical service according to the "National
Electrical Code" or your local electrical code to the
junction box (located on the plaster frame). Supply wire
insulation must be rated for at least 90° C.
Step 2
Remove junction box cover.
Step 3
Remove appropriate round knockout and connect
conduit to junction box with proper connector
(not included).

Step 4
Connect supply wires to wires in fixture using proper
sized wire nuts (not included), so as to cover all bare
current conductors. Connect white to white, black to
black (120V only), and green (from electrical service) to
bare copper wire in junction box (Figure 8).
N ote: The ground wire at the junction box may need to
be secured to a ground screw.

Step 5
Place all connections and excess wiring into the junction
box and replace cover.
N ote: If the fixture is to be switched from a wall switch,
connect the black power supply wire to the
switch. DO NOT connect the white power supply
wire to the switch.

Special Instructions and Applications
Relamping with Die Cast Lamp Module
(Figure 9-9.2, 10)
Step 1
Remove the lamp module assembly from the packaging
(Figure 9).
Step 2
Unscrew lens holder form lamp holder by rotating
counter clockwise to access socket connections. Install
lamp (Figure 9.1) and reassemble lens holder to lamp.
holder tightening finger tight.
Step 3
Connect Male quick connect for the lamp module to the
appropriate female quick connect in the housing
(Figure 9.2).
Step 4
Insert Lamp module assembly into adjustment bracket
(Figure 10).
