P3MR Recessed Housing Platform

Supply conductors (power wires) connecting the fixture
must be rated minimum 90°C. If uncertain, consult an
electrician.

Housing Platform Installation (Figure 1-4)
IC Platform:
The P3MR housing platform is designed
for installations where the housing comes in direct
contact with insulation (Figure 1) it can also be used in
installations where the housing platform does not come
in contact with insulation (Figure 2).

NOTE
IRiS recessed luminaires (fixtures) are designed to meet
the latest NEC requirements and are UL/cUL listed in full
compliance with UL 1598. Before attempting installation
of any recessed lighting luminaire check your local
electrical code. This code sets the wiring standards for
your locality and should be carefully studied before
starting.
Platforms are airtight and meet or exceed the
performance requirements of the Council of American
Building Officials 1995 Model Energy Code (CABO MEC)
and prescriptive method used by other municipalities.
To insure proper performance, the housing platforms
must be installed with the edge of the plaster frame
collar flush to within 1/2" of bottom of the finished
ceiling. Maximum ceiling thickness is 1" with the
standard plaster frame collar (Figure 3). Use the optional
Plaster Lip extender for ceilings up to 2" thick.
