THE
DOXA
SUB
BEZEL
DOXA's patented SUB
bezel uses the US Navy's
no-decompression table
to calculate the safe dive
time for a given depth
without a decompression
stop during the return
to the surface.
The
Outer Ring
shows
given dive depths in feet
or meters ("FT" means
the depth is measured
Inner Ring
in feet). The
shows the time in
minutes at the depths
indicated above on the
Descent
outer ring. The
Marker
(two dots on the
bezel) is used to set your
watch for the dive
duration starting at the
current time. Once it's
Minute Hand
set, the
will also indicate the
number of minutes you
may remain at the
desired depth and return
to the surface without a
decompression stop.
18
Example
It's 13:24 hrs and the
deepest you intend
to go is 100 feet
(30 meters). Your SUB
will tell you how long
you can stay there
without having to stop
on the way up.
1. Turn the bezel to align
the Descent Marker with
the minutes of the
current time (13:24).
2.
Look up 100 ft/30 m on
the outer ring: The inner
ring shows a safe dive
time of 25 minutes.
3.
Once you've arrived
at your dive depth, keep
monitoring the minute
hand. Commence your
ascent at
13:49 (13:24
25 minutes).
