DENTAL PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTIONS
CASE SELECTION
• Only patients that are capable of applying layer 1 within
60 seconds should be selected for treatment with this product.
• Discoloration of teeth can be caused by: staining from food,
drinks and tobacco with penetration into the tooth enamel/
dentin, age dependent degenerative changes, tetracycline or
minocycline medications, fluorosis, endodontic treatment and
genetically discolored teeth.
• Review client's current dental health and medical history to
ensure that client is in good oral and physical health. Clients
with any medical conditions should consult with their
medical doctor before beginning any whitening treatment.
• Clients with composite restorations must be advised that
existing composites may require replacement, since only
natural teeth will whiten.
• For clients requiring aesthetic restorations, wait 2 weeks after
the last whitening treatment to allow for color stabilization. Do
not place adhesive restorations on teeth within 7-10 days of
any tooth whitening treatment as recent studies show transient
decrease in bond strength during that period.
• Methyl methacrylate provisional or temporaries may discolor
and redden during the whitening process. However, composite
or polycarobonate materials will remain unaffected.
CLIENT EXPECTATIONS
Set realistic expectations about potential results based on oral
exam and explain results vary. Clients can expect a noticeably
whiter smile when the Philips Zoom QuickPro Take-Home
Whitening Varnish kit protocol is followed per the instructions
provided. Anatomy, calcifications, age, tooth condition, hygiene,
etc., determine the results each client will attain. Teeth with
yellow and brown stains will achieve greatest success while those
with gray shading from tetracycline or other medications may
experience little to no results. For gray shades or very dark stains
we recommend a combination of treatments that may include
the Philips Zoom Chairside procedure followed by take-home
whitening.

STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS

Refrigeration required: between 2ºC and 8ºC (36ºF and 46ºF).
Storage temperatures above 8ºC (46ºF) will result in reduced
shelf life. Remove kit from refrigeration 5 minutes prior to patient
application. Inform patient that kit should be kept at home at
room temperature.
FIRST TREATMENT: UNDER SUPERVISION OF THE
DENTAL PROFESSIONAL
Before beginning the Philips Zoom QuickPro Take-Home
Whitening Varnish treatment, perform a prophylaxis to ensure
the client is free of decay, calculus and easily removable extrinsic
stains. All restorations should be intact or well-sealed with
adequate temporary material.
1. For best results provide client with the Philips Zoom QuickPro
Take-Home Whitening Varnish kit immediately following a
prophy or light polishing.
2. Review the contents of the Philips Zoom QuickPro Take-Home
Whitening Varnish kit and the Instructions for Use with the client.
3. Each kit includes a Shade Guide. The Shade Guide can be
used to show the client their starting shade so they can better
see how white they've gotten after completing their whitening
treatment.
