2. Expander Tool Safety Warnings

1. SCOPE

Thank you for your purchase. This product instruction manual contains
information about the proper use of the EVERLOC+™ XL expander tool. To
receive maximum performance and satisfaction from your EVERLOC+ XL
expander tool, and to reduce the risk of injury or property damage from its
use, it is important that you read, understand and follow the instructions and
warnings found in this manual.
The EVERLOC+ XL expander tool is designed exclusively for the assembly
and installation of the EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve system. This tool is
intended to be used with the EVERLOC+ expander heads in sizes 1 1/4 in. to
2 in. The EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve system is designed for use with
RAUPEX
PEXa pipe - use for other purposes or with other systems is
®
prohibited.
For professional use only. Persons using the EVERLOC+ XL expander tool
must be experienced and appropriately licensed professional contractors who
understand the principles and practices associated with the proper installa-
tion of hot- and cold-water potable and hydronic systems.
The information presented in this product instruction manual is intended to
demonstrate the proper use and function of the EVERLOC+ XL expander
tool. Allow only persons who fully understand this manual to operate the
EVERLOC+ XL expander tool. Do not lend or rent the power tool without this
instruction manual.
Nothing in this manual supersedes national or local code requirements or the
recommendations of other manufacturers regarding their components.
Observe all applicable national, state and local laws, regulations, standards,
codes and ordinances. If you believe REHAU product information conflicts
with applicable code requirements, industry standards, or the recommenda-
tions of other manufacturers regarding their components, contact the REHAU

Before starting the installation process, read the REHAU EVERLOC+
Compression-sleeve System Product Instructions and EVERLOC+ Fitting
System Important Notes for information regarding the assembly of EVER-
LOC+ fittings with this tool.
Proper installation is the responsibility of the installing contractor. Review the
REHAU PEXa Limited Warranty (www.na.rehau.com/warranties) and the
REHAU Technical Guidelines prior to installation of the REHAU crosslinked
polyethylene (PEXa) piping system. REHAU Technical Guidelines are defined
in the REHAU PEXa Limited Warranty as: The most current and applicable
versions of all the technical literature available on the REHAU North America
website at www.na.rehau.com/resourcecenter, including, but not limited to,
technical manuals, instruction guides, technical bulletins, submittals and
REHAU Academy training presentations. Check the REHAU Resource

For use only with RAUPEX PEXa pipe and the EVERLOC+ compression-
sleeve fitting system. Other materials or fittings may crack or otherwise fail
which could result in leaking and property damage.
Use only REHAU or REHAU-approved expander heads that match the
dimension of the RAUPEX PEXa pipe being installed (e.g., 1 1/2 in. expander
head for 1 1/2 in. pipe). Use of unauthorized attachments or REHAU
attachments that are the wrong size may result in faulty joints, which can
lead to leaking and property damage.

This power tool uses a strong hydraulic force to expand
PEXa pipe and compress components of the REHAU
EVERLOC+ compression-sleeve system.
To reduce the risk of crush and laceration injury, keep
fingers, hands and all parts of your body away from the
expander head during operation. Remove the battery
before attempting to change or adjust the expander
head.
