 The battery pack will become slightly warm to the touch
while charging. This is normal and does not indicate a
problem.
 The LED will slowly flash green while the battery pack is
charging.
NOTE: If the LED flashes green and red, the charger
has detected a fault. See LED Functions for Battery
Charging for details.
 After charging is complete, the charger LED will stop
flashing and remain green for approximately 5 minutes.
All battery pack LEDs will turn off to indicate that the
battery pack is 100% charged.
 To remove the battery pack from the charger, depress
the latch and slide the charger off the battery pack.
 Remove the power adaptor from the power source. Store
charger in a dry location.
CHARGING A HOT BATTERY PACK
When using a tool continuously, the battery pack may
become hot. The charger may be placed directly onto a hot
battery pack but charging will not begin until the battery
temperature cools to within an acceptable temperature
range. When the charger is placed on a hot battery pack
the LED will turn orange and remain on. When the battery
pack cools, the charger will automatically begin charging.
CHARGING A COLD BATTERY PACK
The charger may be placed directly onto a cold battery pack
but charging will not begin until the battery temperature
warms to within an acceptable temperature range. When
the charger is placed on a cold battery pack the LED will
turn orange and remain on. When the battery pack warms
the charger will automatically begin charging.
USING THE CHARGER WITH A USB DEVICE
See Figure 3, page 8.
When the charger is connected to an AC power supply or a
battery pack, the USB port on the charger supplies a 5 volt
DC, up to 2.1 amp charging site for your cell phone, MP3
player, or other small (up to 2.1 amp) USB device.
OPERATION
Charging a USB device with AC power:
 Connect the power adaptor to a power source and then
the cable to the charger.
NOTE: The LED will turn red and remain on for
approximately 5 minutes when the product is connected
to an AC power supply and not installed on a battery pack.
 Plug the USB cable into the charger and into your USB
device.
NOTE: The USB port on the charger is always active when
the device is connected to an AC power supply. The USB
device will begin charging as soon as it is connected to
the charger. It is not neccesary to press the USB activate
button.
 The charger will provide continuous charging to the USB
device until the device is fully charged.
 Remove the device when charging is complete.
Charging a USB device with a battery pack:
 Remove the cable from the charger, then remove the
power adaptor from the power source and store in a dry
location.
 Connect the charger to a charged battery pack.
NOTE: When the charger is connected to a battery pack
only, the LED will remain off until the USB activate button
is pressed.
 Plug the USB cable into the charger and into your USB
device.
 Press the USB activate button to start charging the USB
device.
NOTE: If the charger stops providing power to the USB
device before it is fully charged, the battery pack may
have entered "sleep mode". Press the USB activate
button to exit "sleep mode" and resume operation.
NOTE: USB charging time is dependent upon the level
of charge in the USB device when it is connected to the
charger. When a USB device is charging, energy from
the battery pack is transferred to the USB device. If the
energy in the battery pack is depleted, USB charging will
stop.
