4.1 Raised Side Rail Cover (optional)

Optionally a replacement cover for bed frames with raised side rails
can be fitted to the foam of the mattress. The RSR cover (which
can be fitted to the Invacare Glissando®, Softform® Premier™
and Softform® Excel™) has welded seams. There are integrated
foam bolsters within the Raised Side Rail cover which can be easily
removed for cover laundering by means of individual zippers on the
underside of the cover. The standard mattress cover can be replaced
by the RSR covers without changing the foam.

– Do not use Raised Side Rail Covers with integrated
foam bolsters as a restraint or fall prevention in
themselves.
– Do not use Raised Side Rail Covers outdoors.
The RSR Covers are intended to be used on Softform® Premier™
/ Softform® Excel™ and Glissando® pressure redistributing
mattresses in beds with raised side rails. The RSR Covers are
intended to be used in an acute or long term care environment or in
a home care situation. The bolsters are designed to warn the patient
when they are nearing the edge and to give the cue to reposition
themselves within the surface away from the edge.
