2.1 Safety information

WARNING!

Improper use of this product may cause injury or
damage.
– If you are unable to understand the warnings, cautions
or instructions, contact a healthcare professional,
dealer or technical personnel before attempting to
use this equipment.
– Do not use this product or any available optional
equipment without first completely reading and
understanding these instructions and any additional
instructional material such as user manuals, service
manuals or instruction sheets supplied with this
product or optional equipment.
WARNING!
Risk of developing pressure ulcers
Bed sheets must be loosely fitted, with creases
smoothed out. Care must always be taken to ensure
that the support surface in contact with the user is
kept free from crumbs and other food debris, and that
drip cables, stents, and other foreign objects do not
become entrapped between the user and the pressure
reducing surface of the mattress, as this may result in
the development of pressure ulcers.

Bed accessories designed by other manufacturers have
NOT been tested by Invacare. Use of NON-Invacare
bed accessories may result in injury or death.
– Use ONLY Invacare rails, mattresses, bed extenders
and other accessories with Invacare bed products.

Risk Of Injury Or Damage
Conditions such as restlessness, mental deterioration
and dementia or seizure disorders (uncontrolled body
movement), sleeping problems, and incontinence can
significantly impact a patient's risk of entrapment.
Pediatric patients or patients with small body size may
also have an increased risk of entrapment.
– Monitor patients with these conditions frequently.

To avoid damage, injury, or death from explosion:
– Do not use with flammable anesthetics.

To avoid burning a hole in mattress/bedding or causing a
fire, which could lead to further product damage, injury,
and/or death:
– Do not smoke while using this device.
– Visitor smoking is not permitted. Smoking by visitors
in the room will contaminate the mattress.
