PREFACE

"People say that lovers of fine cars also
have a great weakness for fine time-pieces
and vice versa. In both cases, sporting ele-
gance and outstanding performance are
especially important."
The words spoken in 1988 by Chopard
co-president Karl-Friedrich Scheufele
– himself a dedicated classic car enthusi-
ast – upon launching the first Mille Miglia
collection ring as true today as ever. The
brand's participation in many famous classic
rallies, including the 1000 Miglia*, embodies
a unique relationship between Chopard and
motor sports.
The close ties between these two worlds
have been strengthened ever since,
largely due to the impressive number of
common denominators that naturally draw
them together. These include constant
innovation, a tireless quest for perfor-
mance and excellence, unfailing respect
for traditions, the supreme importance of
details – and of course a shared passion
for mechanical engineering.
The Classic Racing collection is a tribute to
the world of automobiles and motor sports,
especially intended for passionate devo-
tees of cars and watches. We congratulate
you on being one of them.
Your watch has been crafted in the
Chopard workshops and has success-
fully passed the various testing phases.
Nonetheless, the specific nature of its
mechanism and its functions makes it
essential that you comply with the indica-
tions contained in the present document.
* The legendary 1000 Miglia, an open road race across Italy, enjoyed its heyday between 1927 and 1957.
The famous names in history of car racing competed fiercely along the 1000 miles from Brescia. Chopard
has been one of the main sponsors of the 1000 Miglia and official timekeeper since 1988. This longstanding
partnership has given rise to a collection of sports watches reflecting an unparalleled passion for precision
and performance.
