4. Commissioning and operation

4. Commissioning and operation
4.1 Measuring location requirements
Moisture can affect the characteristics of the instrument. The positioning should be chosen so that the instrument is not
exposed to moisture due to temperature changes (e.g. in the case of evaporators with de-icing systems).
The instrument has IP67 or IP69K ingress protection. The instruments are not hermetically sealed so that small air
volumes can penetrate or diffuse through the case. This can cause moisture to collect in the sensor and cause
measured errors.
If positioning closer to evaporators cannot be avoided, we recommend using a capillary between the outlet line of the
evaporator and the instrument.

4.2 Mechanical mounting

Only use the instrument if it is in perfect condition with respect to safety.
Prior to commissioning, subject the instrument to a visual inspection.
Report obvious damage immediately.
Additional mounting instructions for applications at instruments per IEC 60335-2-40/IEC 60335-2-89:
The instrument must be installed in such as way that, in the end-use application, it is protected from shocks and
external impact.
