4. INSTALLATION

Before installing the element in the kit, make sure the planned locations have good air ventilation, are free from
excessive dust, and are not subject to excessive vibrations.
It is recommended to carry out tests before permanently installing the product (respect the polarities (4 fig. 4).
Insert 4 LR20 batteries into the electronic box to test the radio range.
The aerial must be as clear from any metal parts, sources of parasites or obstacles as possible between your con-
trol box and your home, there should especially be no contact between the aerial and tree leafs or branches. It
should also be placed sufficiently high up (about 1.60m from the ground) and in a vertical position to achieve the
best performances.
Once the tests are complete, remove the batteries before carrying on the installation.
Important : This videophone has a range of 300 m in an open space. However, the range can be reduced depend-
ing on the type and number of obstacles between, or close to, the devices. It is therefore imperative to test all the
videophone elements before fixing them in order to find the best locations for the outside station and the moni-
tor.
a. Installing the outside station and the control box on batteries
(fig. 4-5-6).
Caution: Do not use rechargeable batteries.
1. Use the shield as a template to drill 2 suitable holes on the outside of the pillar and fix the outside station. (5-6
fig 6). Hole 7 should pierce the pillar completely.
2. Place a silicone seal (4) between the shield and the wall to avoid water running inside. (do not use acetic acid
based silicone (vinegar smell).
3. Use the 6-conductor cable to connect the box and the outside station and make sure the colours match. (9 fig 3)
Tip: we recommend passing the wires (for the outside station and the electric door opener) through a protective
sheath in order to protect them from shocks and bad weather. Do not cut the extra 6-wire cable length to avoid
oxidation or bad contact issues. It is better to roll it into a coil between the pillar and the electronic control box
4. Once the ideal location has been found, permanently mount the equipment.
Caution: do not touch the electronic circuit directly (see note in the safety instruction section)
5. Using 2 screws, fix the control box using the 2 holes located at the top and bottom, the aerial being at the top
left (fig 5).
6. Remember to first pass the outside station connecting wire through the hole in the pillar plus 2 wires (Fig1-8)
for the connection to the door opener (you should therefore drill the pillar or wall accordingly). These 2 wires
are then connected to the electric lock or door opener and on the "LOCK" terminal block in the electronic
control box.
7. Then close the control box top cover and replace the 6 screws. (fig.5)
Note: Do not install any aerial other than the original aerial and do not use silicone on the cable gland.
Caution: You should never install the batteries before having fully completed the installation
... or to the mains
If the electronic control box is supplied using an external power source
from a WETR 14602 SER.R1 type transformer, or from an automatic portal (12 or 24 V AC/DC). It must be con-
nected to the ~ - and ~ + terminals on the electronic control box. When using DC voltage, take care to respect
the polarity (- +). (see 7 fig.4)
If you are using an external 12/24 V AC/DC power source, the batteries must be removed.
