Some Special Points to Remember

We recommend that the first few times you use the Rapport™ Classic
V.T.D. you do not make your penis any harder than necessary. Your penis
may not be used to the amount of pressure, size and hardness you will
experience. Increase the firmness of your erection gradually.
If you experience any pain when you use the vacuum pump, lower the
vacuum pressure immediately by pressing the release valve.
Be sure to start by using a large size constriction ring to ensure that the
constriction on the penis is no more than necessary.
If your erection does not stay firm and hard, the constriction ring may
be too large and not enough blood is staying in the penis. Use the next
size smaller.
If you feel pain with the constriction ring on your penis you may be using
a ring that is too small. Use the next size larger.
If the smallest constriction ring does not maintain your erection, try using
two rings together. You can wear any two rings together if it helps to
maintain your erection.
To prevent any tangling of the constriction ring in the pubic hair, you can
use water soluble lubricating jelly in the hair before placing the ring on the
base of your penis.
Alternatively, you may wish to remove the pubic hair for ½ – 1 inch around
the base of the penis to prevent any painful tangling.
Always position the constriction ring with the handles to the top and
bottom while on the base of your penis. This will help you with ejaculation
and easier removal.
With the constriction ring in place your penis may have a bluish color
and the head may appear much larger than normal. Do not be alarmed,
this is normal when your penis is filled with blood.
While wearing the constriction ring, ejaculation does not necessarily occur
as heavily as normal unless you are able to pull the bottom constriction
ring handle down and away from your penis to relieve the pressure on
the urethra.
Your penis will stay erect until the constriction ring is removed.
This
MUST
be done within 30 minutes.
You can obtain a second erection, but you must wait at least 60 minutes
for the blood supply to return fully to your penis. You may then repeat the
process of creating an erection.
If you have difficulties creating and maintaining an erection try putting the
constriction ring onto the base of your penis first, making sure that you
tuck the ring inside the penile tube and then draw the erection with the
pump through the ring. This is effective but the resulting erection may
be slightly smaller than normal.

Safety Precautions for the use of the
Constriction Rings
20 minutes is the recommended time limit for wearing the constriction
rings. Never wear the rings more than 30 minutes as this may cause
strangulation and subsequent gangrene of the penis.
Do not risk falling asleep while wearing the constriction ring. You may
damage the penis, as stated above.
Do not wear the constriction ring while under the influence of alcohol
and drugs. You may forget to remove the ring and cause permanent
damage to your penis.
Allow a minimum of 60 minutes between uses.
Frequent use of the constriction rings in a short period of time may
result in severe bruising at the base of your penis.
Use the largest constriction ring that holds the erection.
The constriction rings should be removed immediately if there is
severe sudden pain, a sudden change in the color of your penis
or bruising occurs.
If any problems occur, discontinue the use of the constriction
rings and consult your physician.
Wear the constriction ring only while engaged in intercourse.

Risks

The most common risks experienced are:
Bruising of the penis. This often happens when you first use the device.
Bruising can range from small red spots on the skin of your penis to
painful black or blue bruises. This is best avoided by increasing the
amount of vacuum pressure slowly when first using the device.
Pain in the penis. This can occur when the vacuum pressure is applied.
If this does happen, stop pumping immediately and release the pressure
using the pressure release valve. If the pain continues, consult your
physician before using the device again.
A hematoma may form. This is a severe form of bruising caused by
bleeding under the skin. Do not use this device again until all signs
of bruising have disappeared. If it happens repeatedly, stop using
the device and consult your physician.
Wrong use of the constriction rings. The rings are safe if used properly,
but if they are left on your penis for more than the recommended 20-30
minutes, they can cause permanent damage to your penis by restricting
the blood supply.
Permanent penile injury. This can only happen if the pump is used
incorrectly and causes swelling of the penis or by making pre-existing
conditions worse. If the instructions are followed correctly this should
not happen.
