of the water and on how often the machine is used.
To get the best out of your appliance, it is necessary
to descale it from time to time. Descaling should the-
refore be carried out after every 40 cycles.
Use the special commercialy available descaling pro-
ducts for filter coffee machines. Alternatively, use
white wine vinegar. Proceed as follows:
• remove the anti-chlorine filter and the permanent
filter from the appliance (to avoid them becoming
contaminated with vinegar);
• pour 2 cups of vinegar and 3 cups of water into
the water tank;
• place the carafe on the hot plate and insert the fil-
ter holder without coffee grounds;
• push the coffee switch and allow the equivalent of
1 cup to percolate, then switch off the machine.
• leave the vinegar to stand for about an hour;
• switch on again and allow the rest of the solution
to percolate;
• Rinse the machine by running it through at least
three times with water only (no coffee) (three com-
plete tanks of water).
Moreover, the coffe machine is equipped with a
system for checking the quantity of limestone depo-
sits. When these reach a high level, the ON coffee
lights (T) will begin to flash: this means that it is time
to descale the coffee part. To do so, you should pro-
ceed as follows:
