7.1 PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE

If you just spend five minutes a month on your high
quality strapper, we will extend a 3-year warranty.
All you need to do is carry out the following simple
checks once a month see Fig.15 and 16.
Do not permit the tool to be used in the presence of
sand, water or similar substances. If this does hap-
pen, the tool must be dismantled and cleaned. In that
case, we recommend returning the tool to your distri-
butor for overhaul.
– Clean any swarf and dirt off the tensioning wheel
(Fig. 15/1), either by compressed air or with a small
wire brush. Clean the toothed plate (15/2) at the
same time. Note ! Wear protective goggles if you
use compressed air!
– Clean any swarf and dirt off the upper (Fig. 16/3)
and the lower punch (16/4), either by compressed
air or with a small wire brush.
Tip: If these items are very dirty, use a cleaning
fluid.
– Apply a little shearing oil (Nr 185013) to the surface
of the punches and then operate the strapper a few
times without any strapping.
– Following this simple maintenance procedure, test
the tool and adjust the cutting depth as shown
in chapter 6.2.
