HOW TO USE THE DEVICE
1. With the oxygen tubing connected to either the humidifier
OR the oxygen outlet connector, press the power switch of
the unit to the "ON" position.
When the Oxygen Concentrator is first turned "ON", you will
see all ten (10) LEDs on the control panel briefly light up
and you should hear an alarm. The Oxygen Concentrator
will then operate in "start-up" mode for up to 15 minutes
with the Startup Low O2 LED light on until a normal oxygen
level is achieved, at which time the Green Good O2 LED
lights up and will remain lit.
2.
Check that the flow meter is set to your prescribed oxygen
flow rate. Your oxygen concentrator is now ready for use.
3.
If using an oxygen cannula (see Figure I), insert the nasal
prongs of your oxygen cannula into nose, OR if using an
oxygen mask (see Figure J) position the oxygen mask
over your nose and mouth. Wrap the tubing of your oxygen
cannula/mask over your ears and place in front of your
body. With the oxygen cannula/mask secured, breathe
normally to receive oxygen therapy.
4.
When finished using the unit, press Power Switch to turn unit OFF.
The healthcare provider is to assess the needs of the patient, at time of installation, for backup supplies of supplemental oxygen
in case of oxygen concentrator or power failure, based on the condition of the patient, the environment in which the patient lives
and the ability to resupply the patient with backup supplies of supplementary oxygen. The healthcare provider should reassess
as conditions change.
