Programming the inspection round

CAUTION ! Programming is allowed only after inserting the supplied code.
The program version installed on your EVD RS232 DRIVER allows to store 10
PAN/TILT positions of the camera and to repeat them cyclically.
At any programming step, the PAN/TILT positions, the ZOOM and the time during
which the camera must stand still on a frame are stored.
Example:
• Capture the starting position using the "arrow" keys and the T,W controls of the
zoom.
• If the camera must stand still on this frame for a certain time, press the key
PAUSE and hold it pressed for the desired time (max. 4 minutes).
• Press the key MEM to store these operations called "step".
• Repeat the procedure with the following frame.
• At the end of the desired sequence, press the key RUN/STOP and wait 2
seconds (required to store the programming operation in the non-volatile
memory); after this time, the cycle restarts.
• To end a cycle, press RUN/STOP again; if the camera is performing a
translation, the stop will occur at the motion end.
• To restart after an "inspection round", press RUN/STOP.
REMARK: When passing from a close up view (TELE) to a wide-angle (WIDE), you
will obtain an unpleasant out-of-focus effect for the whole lens motion, since the
EVD RS232 program sends first the PAN/TILT command, then the ZOOM
command. It is recommended to interpose a wide-angle frame between the two
"steps".

Using the MDM function

CAUTION ! Programming is allowed only after inserting the supplied code.
One of the EVD RS232 DRIVER features is the MDM function.
This function allows to operate the INSPECTION ROUND function automatically
after an alarm of the EVI-D31 camera set in MD mode (motion detection).
To set the MDM function, proceed as follows:
• Program the desired inspection round.
• Capture the zone to keep under control and operate the MD function of the
camera on this area (for this operation, please refer to the paragraph "MD
function" of the camera operation manual).
• Press the key MDM, then the key MEM; this allows to store the settings of the
area to keep under control.
• To enable the function, press first the key MDM, then START/STOP.
