b) Dissolved oxygen in aqueous solutions
Follow the steps below to take a measurement:
• Connect the probe to the meter and turn on the meter.
• Remove the red protective cap (21) from the membrane head.
• Check that the meter is in "do" mode. The display shows the unit of measurement "mg/L".
• Immerse the probe at least 10 cm deep in the liquid to be measured. This ensures that the
integrated temperature sensor (19) is immersed and an automatic temperature compensation
is carried out for the measurement.
• Leave the probe in the liquid for some time. During this time, the sensor can adapt to the
temperature.
• During the measurement, the probe must be moved around by the liquid (at least 0.2 m/s).
This can be achieved by permanent stirring with the probe.
• For laboratory measurements, it is recommended that you use a magnetic stirrer to ensure a
specific flow rate. This helps reduce measurement errors to a minimum.
• The upper display line shows the measured value of dissolved oxygen (mg/L).
• The lower display line shows the measured temperature value of the liquid.
• After each use, carefully rinse the probe with normal tap water.
• Wipe the probe dry with a soft, absorbent and lint-free cloth.
• After you finish testing, always switch the meter off. Replace the probe protective cap.
