INDICATIONS
®
WINN'SAVE devices for restraining or securing patients in a bed are subject to medical prescription. These products are designed and
used for safety reasons for beds in the following cases:
- Physical restraint: to restrict the movements of an agitated and/or aggressive patient presenting cognitive or mental problems, to stop
him/her falling and to protect staff or the patient from him/herself.
- Securing: protecting a confused patient from getting up unauthorised for medical reasons and for administering treatment.

PRECAUTIONS OF USE

This product must be attached by qualified personnel according to the manufacturer's instructions by following the safety regulations and
procedures in line with the best practice recommendations applicable in health centres and regarding home care.
- Follow the instructions for use: restraining or securing in a chair depending on the indication, choice of size depending on waist
circumference, adjustment of the length of the removable pelvic strap, comfortable tightness that does not restrict normal breathing at rest,
specific surveillance of the skin in direct contact (rubbing, maceration).
- Before use, check that the characteristics of the restraining device are intact (eyelets, loops, seams, buckles, pelvic strap).
- Always attach the waist restraint to the pelvic strap using the side straps, unless contraindicated by the prescriber.
- In the event of direct contact with a patient in isolation for a skin condition (contact precautions), the device will be considered for use
by said patient only, unless reuse is authorised after treatment by the hospital hygiene department.
- Use only the closing systems provided or approved by the manufacturer.
SPECIFIC SURVEILLANCE
- Prohibit any alteration or repair to the restraining or securing devices.
- Check that an agitated patient cannot access or handle the closing systems.
- Check the restraining devices used and stocked for the intention of physical restraint at regular intervals. They must be clean, complete,
in good condition and kept such that they can be used swiftly.
- Keep unused devices out of patients' reach.
- Check that cleaning and maintenance are carried out in accordance with the instructions given in the user's manual.
- Check that the buckle for adjusting the length of the removable pelvic strap is protected between the 2 rear fabrics of the waist restraint.
