Prior to installing window regulator
assembly, manually slide window
glass through its travel in window
glass channels to check
for excessive resistance.
Always inspect visible portion of window
glass channel for damage. If window
glass run channel is visibly damaged,
replace it. Pay close attention just below
door skin; this is a common area for
window glass run channel to be pinched.
Clean window glass channels using a
soapy water solution, then apply grease.
To ensure proper installation of window
regulator assembly, it is vital to confirm
that window is properly aligned within the
window glass run channels.
After installation of window regulator
assembly, complete the following steps.
WINDOW GLASS
ALIGNMENT
STEP 1:
Install window glass to window
regulator assembly lift plate. Do
not completely tighten fasteners
at this time.
STEP 2:
Mounting points from window regulator
assembly lift plate to window are
slotted. Adjust alignment here for
smooth operation of window glass
within window channels.

STEP 3:
Press upward slightly on inboard side
of window glass to adjust window. This
will place left side of window glass flush
with left window channel.
STEP 4:
Now completely tighten fasteners for
attaching window regulator assembly
lift plate to window glass.
STEP 5:
Temporarily connect power to window
regulator. Actuate window regulator
assembly up and down to ensure
smooth operation. If there is any
resistance, repeat steps above.
NOTE: Be sure to check for gaps
and to ensure that the weather-
stripping did not fold underneath
the window glass at any point of
the window glass run channels.
NOTE: Failure to properly align
the window glass can result in
additional resistance on the
window regulator assembly. This
can lead to premature failure of
the window regulator.
