This manual contains specific information regarding the ATEX versions, supplementing the data found in the manual for the FH and SH
WARNING
Electric Pumps (code 001073142).
Read the manuals before installing and using the product.
Improper use may cause personal injury and damage to property, and lead to the forfeiture of the warranty coverage.
2. Product Description
The FHS and SHS ATEX range includes horizontal single-impeller non-self-priming electric pumps, coupled to flameproof electric motors by a rigid coupling.
In the SHS series, all the metal parts that are in contact with the water are made of stainless steel.
In the FHS series, some of the metal parts in contact with the water are made of stainless steel, others are made of cast iron.
This electric pump is suitable for use in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres, due to the presence of flammable sub-
stances in the form of gas, vapour or mist.

3.1.4 Suction
In case of negative suction head (negative pressure on suction side) make sure that the flow resistance in the suction pipe added to the suction lift (height dif-
ference between the water source and the pump suction port) does not exceed the pump's suction capacity, as this could cause the onset of cavitation.
Make sure that the pump is always filled with water.
Do not use the pump if cavitation occurs, as its internal components could be damaged and become potential sources of fire.

section 10.5
If you pump hot water, you must guarantee a minimum pressure on the suction side to prevent the generation of steam.

3.1.5 Minimum Nominal Flow Rate
To prevent overheating of the internal pump components, make sure that a minimum water flow is always guaranteed when the pump is running.
Do not run the pump with the on-off valve shut on the delivery side for longer than a few seconds.
