Software installation

6.1 KMA System-Software EPS 945

The application EPS 944-VP29/30/44 can only be
used in conjunction with the VPM 844 retrofit kit.
Install the following applications on the KMA800 PC:

EPS 945-PE/VE/CR
R
Adobe Acrobat
1. Switch on the EPS via the master switch.
2. Insert the "EP Software" CD in the CD/DVD drive.
3. Select the "RBSetup.exe" file on the "EP Software" CD.
 The Setup program opens.
4. Install the EPS 945 and Adobe Acrobat software on
the PC. Follow the instructions.

Updating the Firmware

The firmware update is described in the Online Help
of the EPS945 software.
Each time it is started the KMA system software EPS945
automatically checks the firmware version on the EP test
system. If an out-of-date version of the firmware is de-
tected on the EP test system, then a status display win-
dow containing the following message will appear:
Firmware version KMA802 out of date
-or-
Firmware version DZE800 out of date
-or-
Firmware version CRE800 out of date

In this case the firmware in question should be
updated.

Configuration

After setting up the test equipment set, interface COM3
for the CRE 800 Common Rail actuation must be turned
on in the "Configuration" menu of the EPS 945 software,
and the maximum rail pressure must be set to 220 MPa.
1. After the PC has booted, start the EPS945-PE/VE/CR
application in the Bosch application selection.
 The "Injection component test - main menu" dia-
log box opens.
 The application initializes.
2. In the "Injection component test - main menu" dia-
log box, press <F7> .
 You are asked to enter a password.
3. Enter the password in the input line:
4. Confirm your entry with <F12>.
5. Select the "Components >> Devices" menu item.
 The "Equipt." window opens.
6. In the CRE800 Common Rail Control selection field,
select the setting "COM3" and "On".
7. Save your entry with <F12> .
8. Select the System >> Test mode menu item.
 The "Configuration - Test type" window opens.
9. In the Maximum rail pressure setting selection
field, select the setting "220 MPa".

If you are using CRI 846H, you must also change the
Maximum common rail pressure to "220 MPa".
10. Press <F12> to save.
11. Quit the menu with <Esc>.
 In the "Injection component test - mai menu" di-
alog box, the status display for the CRE 800 unit
appears in addition to the KMA 802 and DZE 800
status displays.
 The system software reinitializes the devices.
