IV. Safety precautions
as with all technical devices, the proper function and safe operation of this device depend on the user's compliance with the standard
safety procedures as well as the specific safety recommendations described in these operating instructions.
1. The device must be used in strict accordance with the Operations guide. The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damage resulting
from the use of this device for any other purposes.
2. Before start-up of the device make sure that the operating voltage indicated on the device label corresponds to the mains voltage. Op-
eration of the device at a different voltage may damage the device.
Electrical safety is ensured by Protection class II against electrical current damages according to EN 60601-1. Use of a safety plug or earth-
ing of the device is not necessary.
The M+W Superlite Power Pen/Color Pen should be operated in a room under the following conditions:
- temperature: +10° – +40 °C
- relative air humidity: 30 – 75 %
- atmospheric pressure: 700 – 1060 hPa
- no chemically active or inflammable materials in the vicinity
3. Irradiation of the eyes bears certain risk for their damage. Do not direct the light directly at the eyes! Exposure must be restricted to the
working area.
ATTENTION! The emitted light is in the wavelength range 410-490 nanometers.
Use of protection glasses which effectively block the blue spectral range
is recommended!
4. The device may only be used by or on the following persons after consultation with a physician: persons with photobiological reactions;
persons currently taking photosensitive medication; persons with retinal diseases, etc.
5. Solvents, flammable liquids and powerful heat sources must not be kept near the device as exposure to one of these factors may dam-
age the plastic parts of the device.
6. Cleaning agents should not penetrate the device as this may short-circuit the device or cause potentially dangerous malfunction.
7. Only factory-authorized technicians are authorized to open and repair the device.
8. Defective parts may only be replaced with original spare parts for the
